Privacy Policy
Last updated: REPLACE: e.g. 20 October 2026
Your privacy matters to us. This policy explains what personal information Dbossmotions Studio collects, why we collect it, how we use it and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
Dbossmotions Studio ("we", "us", "our") is a professional video and photography studio based in Lagos, Nigeria. We offer video production, photography, documentaries, event coverage, live-streaming, podcast production and content creation. Our website is dbmsmedia.com.
Our office is at Block F4-114, HFP Eastline Shopping Complex, Abraham Adesanya, Lagos, Nigeria. You can reach us at info@dbmsmedia.com or +234 807 829 7187.
2. Information we collect
We only collect what we need to answer you and deliver our services:
- Details you give us: your name, phone number, email address, the service you are interested in and your message, when you use our contact form, WhatsApp, email or phone.
- Project information: briefs, locations, dates, scripts, brand materials and payment records for jobs we carry out for you.
- Photos, video and audio: footage of people captured at shoots, events, livestreams and podcast recordings.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device, pages visited and cookies, collected automatically when you browse our site.
3. How we use your information
- To reply to enquiries and prepare quotes.
- To plan, shoot, edit, deliver and invoice your project.
- To run live-streams and publish content you have asked us to publish.
- To improve our website and keep it secure.
- To show our work in our portfolio, website and social media, where we have your permission or the law allows it (see section 6).
- To meet legal, tax and accounting duties.
4. Our legal basis
We handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023 (NDPA). We rely on one or more of these grounds: your consent; performing a contract or taking steps you ask for before one; our legal obligations; and our legitimate interests in running and promoting our business, as long as these do not override your rights.
5. Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where needed, with:
- Website hosting, email and analytics providers who help us run the site.
- Third-party platforms you ask us to use, such as WhatsApp, YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok and Google Maps. Their own privacy policies apply.
- Payment, banking and accounting providers.
- Freelancers or assistants working on your project under confidentiality.
- Authorities, where the law requires it.
Some of these providers are outside Nigeria. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to protect your data.
6. Photos and video of people
Much of our work involves people. Clients are responsible for telling guests and participants that filming or photography will take place. Unless you tell us otherwise in writing, we may use selected footage and images in our portfolio and marketing. If you or someone you represent appears in our work and wants it removed, contact us and we will act on it promptly. Paid client work is never published against a written confidentiality request.
7. Cookies
Our website may use cookies and similar tools to make the site work, remember preferences and understand how visitors use it. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though parts of the site may then work less well. Embedded content such as YouTube videos and Google Maps may set their own cookies.
8. How long we keep data
We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Enquiries are kept for a reasonable period, and project and financial records for as long as tax and business rules require. REPLACE: confirm your retention periods (for example, project files for X years). We then delete or anonymise it.
9. How we protect it
We use sensible technical and organisational measures, such as password-protected accounts, limited access and secure storage, to protect your data. No online system is completely secure, so we cannot promise absolute security.
10. Your rights
Under the NDPA you may ask us to:
- Confirm whether we hold your data and give you a copy.
- Correct data that is wrong or incomplete.
- Delete your data, where we no longer need it.
- Restrict or object to certain uses, including direct marketing.
- Withdraw consent at any time, without affecting past use.
- Move your data to another provider, where this applies.
To use any of these rights, email info@dbmsmedia.com. You may also complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission (NDPC) if you think we have mishandled your data.
11. Children
Our website is not aimed at children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data through it. We may film children at events or shoots only with the consent of a parent or guardian, which the client arranging the shoot is responsible for obtaining.
12. Links to other sites
Our site may link to other websites, including our social media pages. We do not control them and are not responsible for their privacy practices.
13. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. Continued use of our site after an update means you accept the new version.
